All parents’ evening appointments originally scheduled for Tuesday 5th July will now be held- at the same times- on TUESDAY 12th JULY. This is due to the national teacher’s strike on 5th July.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Appointments on Monday 4th July remain unaffected.
Nickleby class will be in school as usual on Tuesday 5th July.
Many thanks- the Nickleby team
Sometimes there is nothing better than sitting in our gorgeous library and listening to a good story. Thank you Miss Gemmell for reading us a beautiful book that got us thinking about our emotions and facial expressions… and why we actually have eyebrows?!
Thank you to all our wonderful children, parent helpers and teachers for such a wonderful trip to the Tate Britain. We were so impressed with the childrens’ responses to each different painting we saw and how they were able to comment on both composition and materials used, as well as inferring meaning through the visual clues each painting gave us. How lucky we are to have such masterpieces on our doorstep!
Here are the times for Nickleby’s July parents’ evening appointments. Apologies if your slot is not convenient – we have done our best to try and make it work for everyone but unfortunately we can not take specific requests as we have to fit everyone in. If you can’t make it and would like to swap times with another child, please arrange it directly with their parent/carer and then just let us know so we can update the schedule accordingly.
Many thanks, and look forward to seeing you there!
Just a quick reminder about our 2 trips next week (lucky us!)
Please make sure you have returned slips for both trips in good time.
Tuesday 21st June- Unicorn Theatre. Leave school at 9:15am, back at lunch time. No need for packed lunch.
Thursday 23rd June- Tate Britain. All day- normal school drop off and collection times. Packed lunch required (or school will provide one of you indicated this on your reply slip)
Any questions, please just let us know.
Mrs Jenkins, Mr Eggleton, and Miss Gemmell.
We had an amazing time on our Tower of London trip this week! The children loved spotting the parts of a castle they had learnt about and we all got to see a real garderobe up close! We also saw the Crown Jewels, got a tour by the King’s daughter, and fit in some wonderful drawing time both outside in the sunshine and inside the White Tower. Well done to all the children for their enthusiasm and exemplary behaviour all day- you made the day fantastic.
